About Me

Hey there and welcome to TreelineWife! My name is Amy Livesay and I am lucky enough to be married to my husband, Mark who is the creator of Treeline Pursuits and Treeline Academy, his new E-Scouting course. What does this mean? It means he is an avid hunter and if you are married to an avid hunter, you know you either have to join them or you will never see them! Over time, I have adapted to his quirks/all in/extreme nature and am super happy to be a part of this adventure. I wouldn’t call myself a hunter, but I have been known to tag along, but mostly it is now Mark and our son Eli (15 years old as of 2024). I get to hang out with our daughter Emme (11 as of 2024), our 3 dogs, 1 cat, 7 chickens and 30 llamas instead.

Family Life

In 2016, we moved our family across the country from Missouri to Missoula Montana. Why? For a job? No, we packed up because Mark was working too much, and we really needed to get away from his job. He was really unsettled, and I don’t think he even realize it. I had been trying to get him to scale our business back or quit altogether for years, but nothing worked, until I said “Let’s move somewhere west where you can hunt.”

He picked Missoula because of the animals he could hunt here and the access to public land. We visited in April and moved the following March.

Each of our lives is a gift from God to be used for good especially the good of our families but also the community at large. Sometimes it is easier to help those outside of our families than those in them. It can be more than frustrating. You can feel like you are running on a hamster wheel with the same problem rearing it’s ugly head over and over and over and over and OVER. But God loves families and sometimes you need to take some drastic measures. So……we did. We moved across the country and no, we did not have jobs here.

With that said, I truly love Montana as much as Mark does and I am thankful for the move.

What will you find at TreelineWife? Beside many hunters, walk their sweet families. This is the family side of a hunters life, the ups and downs, wins and losses, the faith that sustains us and the ways we do our best to live healthy, authentic, and adventurous lives for the purpose of raising a Christ honoring family. This world needs hope especially right now. I think we all need to realize that marriage, family and life in general can be super difficult but all things that are worthwhile take hard work. While staying married and raising kids can be difficult, there is also nothing as rewarding. So be ready for the mistakes both now and some sharing from the past.

Psalm 107:2 says “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story-those he redeemed from the hand of the foe.” Many days I am ashamed of how we lived in the past and some days I am ashamed or embarrassed by how we live now, but there is no doubt the Lord has redeemed our story and continues to move and breathe into our lives and mistakes every day.

Faith

Obviously, I believe in the Lord Jesus. And, I don’t mean that I am a “Christian”, though I am. I mean that I believe the Bible is true and that it holds the very words of God. I believe God, in his great mercy, sent Jesus to die on the cross, because we are all sinners (surely in today’s cultural climate you can see this?). He died and then rose again. In rising, he defeated death, and we no longer have to live our life in fear, but in expectant joy of Heaven to come for those who believe upon His name. All things can waste away and yet Jesus and His promises are enough.

Culture

I am appalled at what is currently going on, that good is called evil and evil is called good. I was fairly alarmed even before COVID and the riots and the Biden administration but am more alarmed now. The very things America was founded on, religious freedom, freedom in general, democracy, and capitalism are being threatened. We have forsaken the truths of God for lies. We have forsaken God himself for our idols of entertainment, comfort, pleasure and sex.

I have much to say on the culture, many questions to ask as it also seems we lack the ability to think critically. I admit, sometimes I do not think through issues well enough, so I hope we are all open to considering the real implications and complications from our actions and thoughts.

What else?

I love to run, bike, and generally be as active outside as I can be. It is good medicine. I also love to cook healthy food. Life is better and I am more effective in everything I do if I feel good and strong and if my family feels good and strong as well. Just as we are not meant to put damaging things such as pornography into our minds, we were not created to consume the poison that is now being sold as “food.” It is a travesty especially in relation to our children. We can and should protect them and educate them on what they are offered all over place all the time in the form of dyes, seed oils and excessive amounts of sugar and caffeine.

Camping. I love camping especially when we float the river and camp on the sand bar, but really most camping that is not in a crowded campground will do. I would literally live outside all year round if I could make that happen. Maybe one day I will.

School: We homeschooled our children up until last year. It was a wonderful experience and I would not trade that time for anything. But alas, our children, especially Eli needed more boys and sports quite honestly. He likes to be challenged. He likes team sports and loves to be around people. So, last year he and Emme started at the Christian school and Eli has now transitioned to public high school.

Oh, I probably should mention I am a Llama Mama. People tend to think that is pretty cool as do we. We have gotten to do some pretty awesome pack trips into the back country of Montana and especially Yellowstone with these amazing guys. And now we have some girls AND some babies!
