The Water is Boiling
Surely you have heard about frogs in boiling water. The frog gets in before the water is even warm and slowly, ever so slowly the water gets warmer and warmer and warmer, but since the frog is in the water, he either doesn’t notice how hot and DANGEROUS the water is getting until it is boiling and kills him.
Perhaps you watched this on a video in science class when you are younger or perhaps you haven’t seen it at all, but it illustrates an important point that we see play out in so many ways in our lives.
Small incremental changes are less noticeable when you are experiencing them on a consistent basis.
We see it in the growth of our children. Only when we look back at their pictures from a year ago are we keenly aware of how much they have truly changed.
Bad eating habits don’t seem like a big deal on a meal-by-meal, day-by-day basis, but slowly, almost undetectably, they can cause irreversible damage or at the very least we end up wondering why we have an extra 30 pounds around our middle.
Not disciplining our kids “just this once” doesn’t seem like a big deal until you add up a year of “just this once” interactions and find you have a child that will not obey you at all.
Alas, progressive, socialist ideals, reforms and little nicks in our freedom do not seem like a big deal each on their own until over a matter of years, we don’t recognize our country. In a matter of 4 months these seemingly small changes in ideology have shut down your schools, taken away your ability to make a living, sent the economy tumbling, induced so much fear that you are ratting on your neighbor and “obediently” walking around looking like a bank robber. Ultimately, they are dividing and destroying one of the greatest nations ever.
The water in American is BOILING. Little by little, we have given a degree here and a degree there and now the water is BOILING and we, the average citizens, you and me, have to do something about it.
“What Do We Do?”
We do not have to sit by and watch our country fold or be bullied into submission by some truly leftist, minority groups pushing a COMMUNIST agenda on America. If you have not noticed, there are enough countries controlled by Socialist, Communist governments and most of them are NOT places you want to live.
We must protect the great freedoms that this country affords to you, me, our children and all the people over all the years who have come here from other countries, other nationalities, indeed people of all races who want to live in this country where they can be free not to mention because so many of our ancestors fought hard to either get here or to create freedom or sustain freedom in this nation.
You may or may not like some of these suggestions but hear me out before you completely shut your mind off to them.
1. Educate yourself: I know many of you don’t like to believe there is so much evil in the world. You can’t prove that China started the virus, you can’t fathom how all of the attacks on President Trump are linked (Impeachment, COVID, the riots, etc.). I get it. What you can see is a common thread. That common thread is an effort to oust Trump in 2020 by very leftist, Marxist, Communist, Socialist groups.
As you educate yourself, you will realize that though it is about Trump today, it is really about us giving little degrees here and there over the years. This has been going on for a long time. I know it is overwhelming but start digging. I have some great places to start on my resources page.
2. Vote for Trump in the 2020 Presidential Election: Now, before you quite reading, hear me out. I know a lot of people do not “like” President Trump for a variety of reasons. Fine. I get that too. Biden does dress up nice. He doesn’t tweet ridiculous things though he does say many ridiculous things.
The 2020 election is not a popularity contest.
We are voting on 1 thing. PLEASE be clear on this. They both have a platform and they talk about abortion, the economy, immigration, health care, blah, blah. But none of those issues matter AT ALL if we do not have Freedom.
Have you enjoyed living in America, growing up and having the freedom to pursue things, jobs and places and people that matter to you? Of course you have. The only reason you have been able to do that is because we have FREEDOM and we must defend it at all cost.
FREEDOM is what your fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers died for. The HEROES of our nation have protected this freedom. Are we really going to be the deplorable generation that takes it so for granted and is so spoiled that we will not put everything on the line to protect it as well?
Sometimes elections are confusing. It is hard to know whom to vote for, but this year, fortunately or unfortunately, it is not too confusing. The vote in the 2020 election is for FREEDOM on the right or for SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM on the left. Whether you like Trump, or not, does not matter. We talk all the time about the greater good. This is for the greater good, not for Trump.
What do you want for your kids or grandkids? I want my kids to have the freedom to go out and work hard and succeed or to be lazy and fail, to create and seek endeavors that are dear to their heart, to have as many kids as they want and to have the option to live and move where they want.
The last thing I want is for them to live in a Socialist regime where everything is “equal” so the get everything doled out to them, the amazing task of working in a factory, never improving, never hoping for something better, never having a choice and potentially living in fear and oppression as we see right now and in history in many socialist run nations. I know you think that can’t happen here, but I bet you didn’t think the schools would ever get shut down or we would be wearing masks around all the time. Did you think that people would be so disrespectful of our heroes that they would tear their statues down? Do you think the people in Germany ever thought the Holocaust would happen?
There is only ONE issue on the ballot. Your vote or lack of a vote is cast for Freedom or against it. There is no gray area.
3. Local and State Elections Matter as Well: This of course goes down to the state, city and county level as well. We must know our local politicians and again, vote accordingly. Are they going to protect your Freedom or are they going to slowly, ever so slowly turn the water temperature up so that you are living in a state or city that is controlled versus free. Do they value the constitution and our Freedom or do they want us to acquiesce to the really LOUD leftist groups that are saying and doing and promoting all kinds of extreme measures and beliefs
4. Talk About and Share information with Others: Do not be afraid of the conversation. Though we are somewhat divided, we are not enemies. Your neighbor or the person who disagrees with this is not my enemy, nor are they yours. It is very easy to get a conversation started and indeed we need more conversations, less social media posts, and less hatred.
If you simply ask, “How do you feel about everything that is going on?” You will likely get an earful and you will likely know if you can make a difference. Many, many people are caught in the chaos or believe they are the only one who still values America. Simply confirming that you feel this way could make all the difference.
The Marxist movement, and be clear it is a calculated movement, is counting on you being so overwhelmed by the chaos that you won’t know what to do and you will be so worried about offending anyone that you won’t discuss it either.
Oh no. Not now. The Bible says in 2nd Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Yes, there is fear, but in the face of fear we have the choice to be timid or to be courageous. Remember courage is not the absence of fear but the choice to do the right or difficult thing even in the face of fear.
In love you can talk about freedom, the most important freedom being the right to worship God. One of the first things Hitler did when he was elected in Austria was to take all of their religious symbols and songs out of the schools and replace them with his picture, a swastika, and the German anthem. Be confident, you are speaking in LOVE, and if someone cannot see that and calls you a racist or gets mad at you, so be it.
Just like there is a Marxist Movement, WE have to stand up and one by one, you and I must start a Preserve American Freedom movement. How do we do it? Go back to step 1, then step 2, then step 3, then step 4. Repeat.
You may not feel powerful enough to do anything. You might feel like there is no hope, but if all of us educate one another and sway the vote of even a couple of people, we will have done something amazing.
There is so much at stake. The water is boiling. What will you do?
